Jewellery Care Guide

Love Your Layers: The Dialuxé Care Guide

Dialuxé jewellery is designed to be worn and loved. However, as with all demi-fine (gold-plated) jewellery, a little extra care goes a long way in keeping your pieces shining bright for years to come.

Follow these simple "Golden Rules" to protect your plating:

1. The "Last On, First Off" Rule Always put your jewellery on after you have applied perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and makeup. Chemicals in these products can react with the gold plating and cause it to tarnish or fade over time.

2. Keep It Dry While our Sterling Silver base is durable, water is the enemy of gold plating. We recommend removing your jewellery before:

Showering or bathing.

Swimming in pools (chlorine) or the sea (salt).

Exercising (sweat can be acidic).

Tip: If your piece does get wet, gently pat it dry completely with a soft tissue immediately.

3. Sleep Soundly (Without Your Jewels) We know they are comfortable, but sleeping in your earrings or necklaces can cause unnecessary friction, tangling, or pressure on delicate chains. We recommend taking them off before bed.

4. Storage Matters Oxygen causes oxidation (tarnish). When you aren't wearing your pieces, store them in your Dialuxé Gift Box or an airtight jewellery pouch. Keep them in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and humidity (avoid the bathroom!).

How to Clean

Do: Gently buff your jewellery with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove oils and restore shine.

Don't: Use liquid jewellery cleaners or polishing cloths designed for solid gold/silver, as these contain harsh chemicals that can strip the gold plating away.
